Atufa - hand-stitched wool wrap
“Atufa” in Hebrew means to be wrapped - held in a sense of protection and quiet comfort.
This intention guided me while making this piece as part of my "wildcraft" practice - working directly with raw materials, plant color, and an intuitive process.
A one-of-a-kind patchwork wrap, composed of many hand-dyed wool fragments, each carrying its own tone, trace, and variation.
Dyed with natural materials - cochineal, logwood, and eucalyptus leaves and bark- the colors emerge slowly, with depth and subtle irregularity. The pieces are hand-stitched together using variegated wool thread, forming a soft, continuous surface that holds both structure and openness.
Beyond its function as a wrap, Atufa can also exist as a textile object in space - placed, hung, or draped - bringing warmth, texture, and a quiet presence into the environment.
Made from 100% virgin merino wool.
Soft, breathable, and warm.Dimensions: 180 × 95 cm
Cloth of protection - Wildcrafted "Atufa"
To keep the colors bright and fresh, hand wash with mild soap and dry in the shade
As with all my products, only natural materials were used in the making of this scarf. I strive to accurately portray the beauty of nature while respecting its fragility and working to minimize waste and damage.
I gather my leaves in the vast fields around my home, beautiful Aviel village, in the south surroundings of Carmel Mountains, Israel.
